I can barely keep up with my other blog, why start a 2nd?

I really wanted Nakomabunkport to focus on the work we're doing to the house.  I should have enough material to keep THAT blog fully stocked with new posts.

But it was really hard to contain my excitement about finding great bargains on the streets of Madison, Wisconsin and I couldn't help but blog about it.  Who can forget the amazing fountain for $50?  And two TREK bicycles with automatic transmissions for $50 each?  And the endless pottery, kitchen appliances, light fixtures, and tsatskes for pennies on the dollar?

Thrifting is an entire topic unto itself.

It's the middle of March and warmer weather is upon us.  And for those of us who like digging through other people's trash, our hearts are starting to beat just a little bit faster.

Join me as I document our journeys into the yards, garages, church basements and Goodwill stores of town.  It can't be worse than reading your newspaper, can it?

  2. As you already know, I am right here and totally with you on this! I am still ecstatic about my frame find at St Maria Goretti's this a.m., feeling definitely blessed and out of body with holy happiness. It looks fantastic on the painting and will look PERFECT once I mitre cut the corners to size, when of course I will show you a picture. But please don't completely abandon the other blog. You just added those swell progress bars!
